Nikoloz Sanishvili was born on December 24, 1903 in Kutaisi. He graduated from Balanchivadze Music School. In 1921–1924, he studied at electronics and mathematics faculty of Tbilisi State University. In 1923, he studied at Film Actors School at the People's Commissariat for Education. In 1931, he independently made a film “navtobis xutsledis bolshevikebi” (Bolsheviks of five-year plan for oil production). In 1933, he shot a film “udabno” (Desert). In 1960, together with Slovak cinematographers he made “shetskvetili simgera” (Interrupted Song). He was a recipient of Czechoslovak Labour Medal. In 1964, he became a People’s Artist of Georgia. Nikoloz Sanishvili died on October 26, 1995.
