Reziko, the only son of Meliton Beltadze has neither the talent nor the desire to become an opera singer. However, at the behest of his mother and grandmother he takes exams to enter the Conservatoire. He comes out as a flop after the very first exam but he and his father decide to withhold the truth from the rest of the family. Meliton confides all this to his friend, director of the toy factory and asks for his assistance. Reziko’s temporary work at the factory brings out his talent for making excellent toys. Together with his true vocation, Reziko finds his first love at the factory.
