The collective farm "Gantiadi" gets defeated in the socialist competition by the neighboring collective farm. Thanks to the overhaul of the working methods and headed by the lead tea worker, "Gantiadi" retrieves the leadership in the socialist competition. However the lead tea worker Eteri looks sad. The thing is that her groom Bidzina returned home from the front with a kid whose father died in a battle. Eteri believes that the kid is Bidzina’s son. Soon the kid’s mother arrives and everything gets clear.
