World War Two takes Misho Zvara, a Slovak soldier, to Georgia. There, when he visits his wounded friend in a hospital, he meets Eliko, a Georgian doctor. They fell in love but Misho has to return to the front. After getting seriously wounded he finds himself back to the hospital in Georgia, this time with his right leg amputated. Misho doesn’t want Eliko to see him like that but she finds him anyway and when the war is over they move to Slovakia.
