The law enforcement is trying to tarnish the name of Mevlud Diasamidze, defender of Adjara’s oppressed population. The police can- not get hold of Mevlud, but arrests his wife and son. Mevlud goes to Topchan-Beg and demands that his family be freed. Enchanted by his bravery, Topchan-Beg offers money to Mevlud and suggests that the latter go abroad, but Mevlud refuses. He gets captured and confesses in having ties with revolutionaries. Mevlud’s lawyer manages to commute his death sentence. Topchan-Beg gives Mevlud money and weapons suggesting that he hide somewhere. Mevlud gets killed.
