Siko Dolidze was born on February 6, 1903 in Ozurgeti. In 1925, he graduated from History and Philology Faculty of Tbilisi State University. He wrote poetry and short stories and was an active member of the “Group of Leftists”. He also participated in the events organized by the futurists. He was a head of Tbilisi cinema-studio’s (now Kartuli Filmi, Georgian Film Studio) chronicle cinema department. He was a People’s Artist of the USSR (1965) and a recipient of the USSR State Prize (1950). Siko Dolidze died on July 17, 1983 in Tbilisi
