The broadcast of the Opera "Abesalom and Eteri" reminds its author, composer Zacharia Paliashvili as to how the opera was written. As a young composer he travels from one village to another in order to collect old Georgian folk songs and edit them as a book. During his journey he gets acquainted with Prince Amirajibi’s daughter Nato. Because of the lack of money she is compelled to marry a rich businessman. Broken-hearted Zacharia goes to Moscow and enrolls the State Conservatoire. When he comes back home he is strongly resolved to establish the national opera. However the death of his son thwarts his plans for a long time. With the help of his supporter Zacharia comes out of vertiginous moods and based on the story of an old shepherd writes the first Georgian opera "Abesalom and Eteri"
