was born on August 1, 1929 in Tbilisi. In 1941, she acted as Kato in Konstantine Pipinashvili’s film Qadjana.In 1951, she graduated from Shota Rustaveli Theatrical Institute. In 1966, she won the best actress at Leningrad (St. Petersburg) All-Union Film Festival for her role in Siko Dolidze’s film Shekhvedra tsarsultan (Meeting with the Past). Leila Abashidze wrote a script, Expectation, in collaboration with Shota and Nodar Managadze and co-directed the film with them. She was awarded an Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the title of Honorary Artist of Chechnya-Ingushetia (1964) and Georgia (1965).
