was born on March 19, 1903 in Kutaisi. He studied at Tbilisi State University and Giorgi Jabadari Tbilisi Theatre Studio. In 1938, he graduated from the filmmaking department at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. From 1927–1928, Shota Managadze was a director and artistic director of Kutaisi Drama Theatre. From 1929–1931, he led the Theatre of Tbilisi Workers’ Youth. In 1932, Shota Managadze was a director of the Red Army Theatre. From 1934–1936, he was a director and artistic director of the Republic’s Workers’ Theatre. From 1938 onward, he worked as a filmmaker at Kartuli Filmi Studio (Georgian Film). He was a Peoples’ Artist of Georgia (1966). Shota Managadze died on July 21, 1977.
