was born on August 24, 1948 in Tbilisi. She graduated from musical college in 1966 and later studied architecture at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. In 1980, she graduated from Shota Rustaveli Theatrical Institute (now Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University) where she studied filmmaking under Tengiz Abuladze and Irakli Kvirikadze. Nana Jorjadze worked in Sakkalakmsheni (City Development) as an architect from 1970-1975. From 1972-1974, she made her MA in architecture at Mosproekt (Moscow Project Institute). From 1977 onward, she has been working in the film industry. Nana Jorjadze was a member of the juries of various international film festivals such as San Sebastian (1987), Tel-Aviv (1989), Cannes (1992), Potsdam (1993), Karlovy Vary (1997), and Venice (1997). In 1994, she became a member of the European Film Academy. At various times she worked in Germany, France, and Russia.
