was born on October 7, 1894 in Tbilisi. From 1911-1918, he studied law at Moscow University. Before graduating, he was drafted into the army. From 1919-1920, he worked on the Tbilisi estrade stage. In 1920, the Menshevik government drafted him for a fifth regiment. After the Soviet Union was established, he was sent to the Kutaisi training battalion. From 1924-1925, he worked for estrade and was directed at Musical Satire Theatre. From 1925-1930, he was an actor and director at Sakhinmretsvi (Qartuli Filmi/Georgian Film Studio).
