The film presents the bitter plight of the generation of intelligentsia that opposed ideological despotism. Poet Tamaz Enguri is imprisoned and put in the dungeon of The Internal Department Committee for free expression of political views. The violence he experiences in prison puts a heavy burden on his soul. Tamaz dies from a heart atack soon after he’s released from prison.
