Vaja, the main character of the film, is a prototype of the famous Georgian writer Guram Rcheulishvili. Vaja can in no way come to terms with the tedious monotone of life. He is constantly on the road in quest of adventures, be it Khevsureti, the dome of the Alaverdi temple or the sea coast of Abkhazia. Vaja is strongly confident that the essence of passion lies in creation, not in leisurely appreciation of something already created.
