The film depicts one Georgian village life. The leitmotiv of the film is the love story between Marita and Gedia. Marita has to follow her father’s wish and gets married to wealthy Shete. However, her heart belongs to Gedia. Marita’s mother-in-law gets to know that Marita is not in love with her son and accuses her of adultery. Following the village tradition Marita is publicly punished. The beauty falls victim to the unfair punishment. The good wins over the evil. There are rebellious people I the village who will never reconcile with inequity.
