Mount Arshaula is considered to be a holy place and the kulaks do all they can to hamper the utilization of Arshaula’s rich natural resources by exploding the mountain. For that purpose the kulaks tap into the feelings of the fanatic worshipers. The village council still decides to explode the mountain. Berdia, a kulak, sends his serf to neutralize the explosives but the latter dies in the dangerous zone.
