Two hunters, brothers Turiko and Mgelia are in love with the same young woman. The brothers become rivals. One of them must give up. They decide to draw lots. The winner should kill a rival and the young woman stays with him. After drawing lots, Turiko is the winner. To fulfill the promise they go to the forest. Sudddenly a bear attacks the younger brother Mgelia. His brother Turiko stands aside and does not help the rival. Mgelia dies in the battle with the beast. Turiko returns to the village and does not reveal to anyone his shame. However, he suffers from guilty conscience and insomnia. At the end, he loses his mind and throws himself into an abyss.
