The film tells the story of the revolutionary movement of sailors. Baron Fon Fogel seduces Marusia, the sister of the Black Sea fleet sailor, Ersh. Ersh decides to take revenge. By pure chance, he gets a position on the same ship where Ersh is stationed. The situation on the ship is tense. The sailors are unhappy with unrestrained behavior of the officers. Only mechanic of ths ship, Menshevik Avalov, reluctantly defends the interests of the sailors. During the confrontation between the sailors and officers Ersh fulfills his revenge and throws Fon Fogel overboard. After this, he can’t stay on the ship. He goes to Romania and actively engages in the revolutionary movement there. Immedately after returning to Sevastopol the whole crew of the rebellious ship is punished. Avalov has been transferred to a transportation ship. Years pass. October revolution ends with victory. The Russian transportation ship “Vesta“ that is in Romania at this time is sold to foreighners by the owner. After spending several years abroad Avalov goes to the Soviet Embassy with a confession. Here he meets with Ersh again who leads the Soviet mission. Avalov begs Ersh to send him to his homecountry. His request is approved. Former Menshevik arrives in the Soviet Union and participates in the reconstruction of the country.
