The village teacher, a humble, harmless man Spiridon Mtsirishvili and his young wife are staying overnight in the motel of the railway station while waiting for the train. The unrestrained, promiscuous local royal (aznauri) Tariel Mklavadze, with the help of his friends tries to break into Spiridon Mtsirishvili's room in order to capture his beautiful wife Despine. Spiridon manages to free the woman from the encroachment of Tariel and his drunken friends. The next day Tariel beats the weak and powerless Spiridon. This story has a profound effect on Despine. A shocked, desperate woman cannot stand the stress and dies. Spiridon seeks revenge. A few months later, he kills Tariel at the same station.
