Mikheil Kalatozishvili  (Junior) was born on May 19, 1959 in Tbilisi. In 1987, he graduated from filmmaking faculty of Moscow National Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) under Efim Dzigan. He was a president of Mikheil Kalatozishvili Foundation. Mikheil Kalatozishvili died on October 12, 2009 in Moscow of heart attack.
