was born on May 16, 1914, in Kvareli (East Georgia). In 1939, he graduated from the filmmaking department of the Theatre Institute in Moscow. From 1940-1956, he worked at Kote Marjanishvili State Theatre first as a director, and later as a leading director. He also worked at Zakaria Paliashvili State Opera and Ballet Theater as a chief director and at Kartuli Filmi (Georgian Film Studio). He was a Peoples’ Artist of Georgia (1968). In 1980, he was granted the title of Honorary Art Worker. Vakhtang Tabliashvili died on May 28, 2002.
