Tedo, a coffin-maker, lives together with his wife, Babale in a small village of Kakheti, leading a joyful life. He invariably becomes the centre of attraction every time he appears among his fellow villagers. His happy life lasts till the day his wife dies, as after that his life becomes aimless. It turns out that only this woman meant everything to him. Tedo gradually becomes indiff erent, leaves the village and begins to live in complete isolation and finally freezes in the snow away from everyone.
