The protagonist of the film - Lela Gaburi, a Khevsur doctor from Tbilisi - describes her life as ''a captive of one's own volition". She has to visit mountainous villages every day and decides to study a tabooed tradition of ''Stsorfroba'' by surveying the elderly, who have an experience of practicing this tradition. Besides, Lela establishes a women's rights organization and tries to improve social environment not only for Khevsur women, but also for Khevsur men.
