What are the symbols by which people mark their belonging to specific places? A Georgian photographer and a Latvian documentalist are looking for the answer to this eternal question in Samtskhe-Javakheti, a region of southern Georgia, which has survived historical hardships over the centuries. It is as though even the air in this place is saturated with the silent conflict between a large Armenian community and the Georgian population, who are a minority in the region. Both claim to belong to this land. However, neither of them feels at home here.
