The period of disintegration of the Soviet Union, street rallies, excited society. Entomologist Vakhtang Intrieli's different views irritate many people. The press calls him a "traitor, a cosmopolitan, an opponent of national ideas" ... Vakhtang defends a woman in the street. Nino is a prostitute and a drug addict. Vakhtang tries to remove the woman from the dark world, but the assailants ambush and beat her. Nino tries to protect Vakhtang and is killed by a stray bullet. Vakhtang Intrieli who could not defend himself or his beloved woman from the violence, dies too.
