Robinzon, a photographer from Batumi cannot wait to see his daughter Niniko, arriving from Tbilisi. Niniko was brought up by the stepfather and finds it difficult to get used to her biological father. Disappointed by his daughter’s estrangement, Robinzon confides to her the story of the dolphin called "Skittish" which escaped from Batumi zoo. According to Robinzon the dolphin is at sea and comes to the shore only when Robinzon calls it. The friendship with the dolphin changes Niniko entirely. She misses her father and the "skittish" when she comes back to Tbilisi. Robinzon sets the captured dolphin fee for which he gets severely punished. The "Skittish" comes to his rescue ashore and dies.
