The film is dedicated to the great classic poet Akaki Tsereteli (1840–1915) and his travels in the mountainous regions of Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi. One of his companions was the author of the film Vasil Amashukeli. The journey of the elderly poet was of great public interest. This trip played a big role in the life of the Georgian people. The poet left Kutaisi on July 21, 1912, and was on the road for two weeks. The elderly, the young, and the children greeted the poet with flowers and gifts. Young men on horseback met him with gun salutes and songs, many of them following by side. By the end of the journey several hundred men accompanied him. The poet was extremely happy. In his opinion, Georgia was different from half a century ago. Now the people greeted the free future and were ready to achieve it. Amashukeli predicted all this correctly, the film showed not only the popularity of the poet but also Georgian traditions, love of literature, the beautiful nature of Georgia, and the future of the people. The film brought him great popularity.
