Giorgi follows his son’s advice and goes to live with him in the city during a wintertime. There is no one else left in the house except the Caucasian shepherd Loma. Hungry and bored by loneliness Loma goes to the other village. Here Loma is mistakenly taken as a street dog. He is trapped and pelted with stones. Loma returns home with an injured leg. Giorgi returns to the village in spring. Loma greets him in the yard. The old man can hardly stop crying.
