The film is dedicated to the famous Georgian film director Tengiz Abuladze, who made seven fi lms but it was his last film "The Repentance" that brought him the world fame. Released in 1984, it was said to have ushered in the Perestroyka. The present documentary is directed and narrated by Nana Janelidze, Tengiz Abuladze’s student and his co-author. Her narration shows the whole era which had formed Abuladze as an artist, as well as the road Georgia has passed on its way to gaining independence.
