The film is about the travel of French jeweller Jan Chardin in Georgia. Chardin was heading for Ispahan from Paris to deliver precious jewellery ordered by the king of Persia Abas II. The European traveller followed the route via Transcaucasia. On 10 September 1672 Chardin arrived in Samegrelo by the sea. He planned to cross Georgia in several days but owing to hard situation in the country he had to stay for five months getting into trouble many times.
