Tao-Klarjeti, the historical region of Georgia, is associated with the main Georgian books: the Bible, Life of Kartli and The Knight in the Panther’s Skin. For over a century the region was a closely guarded frontier zone dividing two opposing political systems. Alter the demise of the Soviet empire, the region became accesible for the Georgians.
