The film depicts the precarious life of the border guards. Avtandil Jakeli is conscripted and dispatched to a seacoast village. Avtandil often thinks about his parents, friends and misses Daduna, his sweetheart. He is bitterly distressed by the death of his friend Shcherbina. After some time he takes a leave and arrives to Tbilisi. Deduna takes him to the party where Avtandil gets exasperated by the careless lifestyle of her friends. He unfolds Shcherbina’s letter and reads it aloud, making the partying youth a little more thoughtful. Avtandil goes back to the army and continues his service.
