Mikha returns from the army and learns that his fiancé Pepelo got betrothed to a rich groom. Mikha and Pepelo decide to elope. However, the couple cannot go far and decide to hide in a barn. There is no way out – Pepelo becomes Mikhas wife right in the barn encircled by the gaping villagers.
