Gocha and Khvicha who live in the same village get kidnapped. At the market of captives Gocha is bought by a Venetian merchant, Khvicha goes with the Egyptian mameluk. Khvicha is renamed as Mahmud and brought up as a warrior. After many years Mahmud together with the Georgian woman Tsira locked up in harem decides to run away to Georgia, but Tsira gets killed. The time passes. Mahmud, already famous for his bravery lethally wounds a Venetian warrior who starts groaning in Georgian. Mahmud recalls his childhood spent in Georgia and suddenly recognizes Gocha. Mahmud gets killed for mourning Gocha’s death.
