Mikela’s family contracts irremediable disease. Only the daughter-in law and two grandsons survive. Possessed by the fear, Mikela builds a new house and sends his younger grandson to another village. The older grandson Spidona who tells everyone that the Lord returned him from afterlife and would take him back after one year, is put by Mikela in the barn. One night, during the storm, Mikela leaves Spidona unattended in the barn hoping that nothing will happen to his "enchanted" son. The kid dies anyway.
