The film depicts the early years of the Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovski spent in the Georgian village Bagdati. The poet’s personality is formed during his interaction with ordinary working men and women. His sister Ljudmila brings illegal literature from Moscow. As a student of Kutaisi gymnasia Mayakovski actively participates in 1905 revolutionary movement.
